Children's Church
Sunday Mornings at 10:15AM
Children in PreK (4 year olds) through 4th Grade are invited to join us for Children's Church during the morning worship service. We meet at 10:15am on Sunday mornings, upstairs in our kid's worship room, the Hub. Children's Church is designed to teach younger kids how to participate in worship in an environment that is specific to their age group. Our aim is to prepare young kids for a transition to corporate worship with the rest of the congregation. Kids transition out of Children's Church into worship in the sanctuary when they reach 5th grade. On the fourth Sunday of each month, we do not have Children's Church, to give our younger kids the opportunity to engage in worship with the rest of the church. These fourth Sundays also provide opportunities for our Kids' Choir to sing during the worship service.
Kids' Choir
Wednesday Nights, 5:40-6:00pm
Our Kids' Choir involves kids in PreK (4yr olds) through 6th grade. Psalms 63:4-5 says, "So I will bless you as long as I live; at your name, I will lift up my hands. You satisfy me as with rich food; my mouth will praise you with joyful lips." Our desire is to teach kids to worship the Lord unashamedly. God our Creator has put breath in our lungs, and as long as we have that breath, we will use it to praise the Lord.
Our Kids' Choir has the opportunity to sing during Sunday morning worship service on the fourth Sunday of each month. In addition to these Sunday services, they will also be a part of our special musicals, such as Easter and Christmas.
Kids' Bible Study
Wednesday Nights, 6:00-6:45pm
During the school year, our Children's Ministry uses our Bible Study time to learn the ins and outs of the Bible. We teach in the format of Bible Drill, however our primary desire is not to compete, but rather to grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible. While we do encourage the kids to compete in drills within and outside of our church, it is not a requirement to participate in this Bible Study time. Our Bible Study is split into different age groups. Our junior group includes PreK (4yr olds) and Kindergarten. Our regular kids group is split into 1st-3rd and 4th-6th. We hope your child will join us as we dive deep into the Word of God.
Missions Groups
Wednesday Nights, 6:45-7:30pm
Girls in Action (GAs) is a WMU Missions Discipleship Group for girls in grades 1–6. The GA Motto is “Go Forward!” and Girls in Action do just that—they grow closer to God as they discover their part in His plan and practice what they learn through hands-on missions opportunities. Our GA program aims to lead girls to a lifelong commitment to Christ, His mission, and His church.
Royal Ambassadors (RAs) is a WMU Missions Discipleship Group for boys in grades 1–6. RAs provides an opportunity for boys to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and relationally with others through missions involvement and character development. Our RA program aims to teach boys to live out their role as ambassadors for Christ, given to us in 2 Corinthians 5:20.
Mission Friends is the WMU Missions Discipleship Group for PreK/4 year olds through Kindergarten boys and girls. In Mission Friends, kids will work to develop a missions heart as they move from a focus on themselves to a focus on others. Our aim is for children to grow towards God as they become aware that God wants everyone to know of His love.
Abby White

She later graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN with a BS in Family Studies with a concentration in Family Ministry. She is passionate about seeing the Kingdom of God grow, starting with the youngest of children. Abby has been serving First Baptist Church of Somerville since the Spring of 2022.
