2025 is off to a great start. There are new Wednesday evening opportunities-new Bible study class for women, new Bible study class for men, Children’s choir and Children’s Bible Drill. Our Mission Committee will be considering some new opportunities for serving others. We will also have a Stewardship Emphasis this month-sharing the importance of being good stewards of all that God has given us. I want to encourage you to be involved in the ministry here at First Baptist Church. ”Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31

God continues to be so good to us. We have introduced a new curriculum in the Nursery and it’s so much fun to watch the little ones engage in the Bible stories in a new way each week. Our new Wednesday night schedule is off to a great start for our children. Listening to the kids praise the Lord during Kids’ Choir has already blessed my heart so much. Our Bible study time has been so much fun as we dig into God’s Word each week and teach the children the ins and outs of the Bible. We are focusing on the Old Testament right now, and they are learning it with such enthusiasm and excitement. We have some incredible leaders during this time and I’m so grateful for each volunteer who has stepped up to help. I’m certain the Lord will continue to do great things in the life of our Children’s Ministry.

Happy February! Our Student Ministry has had a great month, as we have just returned from the Briar Ridge Hunting Retreat in Eupora, MS. We had a full house at Briar Ridge with plenty of students and adult volunteers who graciously gave their time to invest in our students. Our students heard the gospel and were encouraged with the Scriptures, and a great time was had by everyone. I want to give a big thank you to Mark Fitzpatrick for putting all of this together every year, I want to thank Rodney Riessen for organizing and cooking the meals for the weekend, and I’d like to thank all of the adults who came with us and cooked, hunted with and mentored students, drove, and led Bible studies. 

In the month of February, we are looking forward to Disciple Now Weekend, which will take place February 28 through March 2. Please be in prayer for our students, adult volunteers, speakers, and musicians!

Finally, The Fayette County Youth Basketball League is well under way for the 2025 season, and our church has graciously hosted games throughout the month of January. Visitors have been very kind and complimentary about our facilities and our church members who have been around for games. I’d say the league has been a success!
