What a glorious Easter celebration this year! I want to thank Stephen White, our choir and everyone else who participated in the Easter musical this year. Praise the Lord for a salvation during the presentation. Easter Sunday was tremendous with a full house, moving musical worship and two decisions. Thanks to the ladies for the flower cross and flowers in the sanctuary.
May is an extremely busy month with graduations, Mother’s Day celebration, mission opportunities to our schools, VBS preparation and much more. May 1st is National Day of Prayer. Our nation is in desperate need for a spiritual awakening because of the ungodly corruption in our culture today. I want to invite everyone that can to come to the Justice Complex on Justice Drive in Somerville at noon to gather as a county to pray, seeking God’s wisdom and protection for our families, community, county and country. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach (disgrace) to any people.” Proverbs 14:34

May is here and the 2024-2025 school year is coming to an end, which means Summer is right around the corner! We have another packed Summer calendar, full of fun and fellowship for our Kid’s Ministry. We will kick things off with Vacation Bible School on June 2-6 for PreK-6th grade. We still need volunteers, so be sure to sign up by calling the church office or filling out the online form. Our VBS church-wide training will be on May 18, right after the worship service. We will have lunch and discuss all things VBS! Call the church office to reserve your spot, so we can make sure to save you a plate. CentriKid Camp sign ups have opened for 2nd-6th grade on June 30-July 4, so don’t forget to sign up for that! This Summer, we will offer Day Camp for PreK-6th grade on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so be on the lookout for our online signup! We have plenty more activities planned for Summer break, so stay tuned for the full schedule being released in the next few days!
Student Ministry
Elliot Garrett - Minister of Students and Recreation
School is coming to a close within the next few weeks, which means that Summer is in sight! I am super excited to share all that we are going to be doing this Summer, but first, I want to take just a couple of lines to honor some seniors who are graduating from high school and from our student ministry at church. These seniors include: Levi Adair, Corbin Bowling, Kylan Bullock, Mary Agnes Forrester, and Madelyn Shelton. We will be honoring these seniors, as well as one college graduate (Alyssa Adair), on May 4 in our worship service. We are so proud of all that they have accomplished, and we certainly want to commit to pray for them and to encourage them in the days ahead.
This Summer, our Student Ministry will have tons of events going on, from hangouts and gym days at the church to bowling and putt-putt to slip-n-slide kickball and pool parties to camp at the beach again. Be on the lookout for an entire list of dates for this Summer, as I am working to finalize those now! Oh, and students, be sure to invite friends to everything! In the month of February, we are looking forward to Disciple Now Weekend, which will take place February 28 through March 2. Please be in prayer for our students, adult volunteers, speakers, and musicians!
Finally, The Fayette County Youth Basketball League is well under way for the 2025 season, and our church has graciously hosted games throughout the month of January. Visitors have been very kind and complimentary about our facilities and our church members who have been around for games. I’d say the league has been a success!
